FAQ

Which areas of Gurugram are safest for expats?

Direct answer

Golf Course Extension Road (GCER, Sectors 57–68) is the primary expat belt and the safest residential area for new arrivals. All four societies we manage here — IREO Grand Arch, M3M Heights, Emaar Digi Homes, Conscient Elevate — have 24-hour armed guards, CCTV, and controlled vehicle access. DLF Phase 5 and Sectors 53–57 on Golf Course Road proper are also established expat corridors. Safety in Gurugram is determined primarily by society type, not by the sector number — a gated compound in any major sector is meaningfully safer than an unguarded building.

Golf Course Extension Road (Sectors 57–68) is where most Japanese, Korean, and European expat families settle. The four gated society clusters here — IREO Grand Arch (Sector 58), Conscient Elevate (Sector 59), Emaar Digi Homes (Sector 62), M3M Heights (Sector 65) — all have 24-hour armed guards with vehicle number plate recognition cameras, biometric or smartcard tower access, and CCTV in all common areas. Sector 58 and 59 are slightly closer to Medanta hospital (12 minutes) and Cyber City (15–20 minutes).

DLF Phase 5 (Sector 53–54) and the Golf Course Road corridor are older but equally well-established expat areas. Rent is higher here for comparable square footage, but metro access (Rapid Metro) and walkable restaurants are better. Security in these older DLF buildings varies more — ask specifically about guard coverage and CCTV before signing.

Areas to avoid for expats unfamiliar with Gurugram: Sectors 10–15 (Old Gurgaon / old city area) is more congested and has higher petty theft rates. Sector 23 and other industrial belt sectors are not residential in any meaningful sense. Highway-facing stand-alone buildings without a gated compound are higher risk regardless of sector. The principle that applies here: the building type and compound access matter far more than the sector number on a map.
